With profund sadness I have to inform you that Wim Meeusen, emeritus professor of the Department of Economics, passed away on 25 February 2013 after a long illness. He was 67 years old.

Wim was a passionate researcher and teacher in the broad field of macroeconomics.
For years he was the driving force behind the Erasmus Mundus programme Economics of Globalisation and European Integration, organised by a consortium of nine universities.
Until very recently he remained involved in the activities of the department and the programme.

We offer our condolences to the family and next of kin of Wim.

The Department of Economics actively seeks interaction with its stakeholders. We therefore look forward to any comments you may have.
