2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)

Acquisition of knowledge and insight in social and legal implications and consequences of undergoing/performing practices in health care.

Skills regarding oral and written reporting, analysing, reasoning and debating.




3. Course content

The course Medical Law contains research of the social and legal implications and cosequences of undergoing /performing practices in health care.

The legal organization of the practising of health care professions is part of this course.

 

The following topics are discussed :

-Legal organization

-Medical council

-fees

-Informed consent

-professional secrecy

-medical file

-liability of physicians and hospitals

-organization of a hospital

-the beginning of life

-minors and mental impaired

-end of life

-medication and drugs
