International cooperation
-
BDMP: Beckett Digital Manuscript Project. A collaboration between the CMG (University of Antwerp), the Beckett International Foundation (University of Reading), the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Centre (Austin, Texas) and the Estate of Samuel Beckett. The development of this project started from two initiatives: (1) the 'in-house' genetic edition of four works by Samuel Beckett (a cooperation between the Universities of Antwerp and Reading), and (2) the Series of Variorum Editions of Samuel Beckett's Bilingual Works, initiated in 1986 by Charles Krance, with the permission and support of Samuel Beckett. With the kind permission of the Estate of Samuel Beckett, these initiatives were developed into the Beckett Digital Manuscript Archive, which combines genetic criticism with electronic scholarly editing, applied to the study of Beckett's manuscripts.
-
Cost Action A32 (ESF): Open Scholarly Communities on the web. Through this network, the CMG has organised a specialized workshop on "Genetic Criticism and Scholarly Edition" (September 2007), and presented an introduction entitled "Digitizing Authors' Libraries." COST is responsible for the European coordination of nationally subsidized research. Belgium signed this agreement on 6 April 2006.
-
ACUME2: Interfacing Sciences, Literature and the Humanities. This European Thematic Network Project (ETNP) is subdivided into 5 'subprojects,' the fifth of which focusses on "Reshaping Humanities through Applied Sciences." Through this network, the CMG has presented its research on the relation between Darwin's notes and his personal library in a lecture entitled "Authors' Libraries and Darwin's Reading Traces" (Warsaw, November 2007).
-
Cost Action IS0704: An Interoperable Supranational Infrastructure for Digital Editions (Interedition).
This COST Action is closely related to the abovementioned COST Action A32. The COST National Coordinator for Belgium supports this cooperation since 7 February 2008
