2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes) An introductory course on the sociological study of society and on law as a social institution.
3. Course content As an introductory course on the sociological study of society and on law as a social institution, we start with some basic concepts and a short presentation of the fundamental research approach in the social sciences. Subsequently we present key social cleavages based on gender, class, age, location, as well as the social processes of social coordination, growth of state intervention and globalisation of the human world .
