Introduction

The Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, lead by Prof. Dr. Hilde VAN DEN BULCK, Dean, comprises 3 Departments:

Department of Communication Sciences
Department of Sociology

On the Bachelor level, 4 degrees are offered:

On the Master level, 9 degrees are offered:

In Belgium, a typical Bachelor programme consists of three years of education, and a Master programme of one or two years. At the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Master programmes are one year.

However, we also offer a Master after Master or Advanced Master:

The location

In April 2006 the faculty moved into a splendid new building in the centre of Antwerp.

The atmosphere

The Faculty of Political and Social Sciences is the third largest faculty of the University of Antwerp in respect of student numbers.
This is however not reflected in the contacts between teaching assistants, professors and students. The aim is to create as little barriers as possible and to organize the faculty from a student centred vision.
