1. Prerequisites

This course module is typically intended for students with an extended professional competence in a particular subject area. These students are trained to communicate on their domain of competence with the general public.
So domain-specific knowledge is present.
Participants also have a very good command of Dutch (either as a native speaker or as an advanced L2-speaker).
They are experienced readers of texts for a wide audience, on scientific subjects.

2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)
Students have instruments and insights to successfully communicate on natural sciences subjects, through various media.
Students are able to define aims and target groups and reflect on the relation between science and society, as well as on trends and evolutions in communication in general, and science communication in particular.
