Fourier Transform Laser Microprobe Mass Spectrometry FT LMMS
The Laser Microprobe Mass Spectrometer allows micro analysis of both inorganic and organic components. The instrument combines an external laser ion source with a Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometer yielding high mass resolution. Applications are found in the qualitative determination of the molecular composition of organic and inorganic compounds (speciation) in micro-objects and at the surface of solids with a lateral resolution of 5 µm.
