PhD defense Edwin van Hassel

on Developing a Small Barge Convoy System to reactivate the use of the small inland waterway network

on 15 November 2011 at 4pm.

Edwin’s PhD deals with the analysis of the small inland waterway problem, and develops a new technical concept of small push barge units. A business case was also developed for the concept.

Subsequent to the defense, Dominique Van Hecke, Cabinet of Flemish Minister of Mobility Hilde Crevits, will give a closing speech, underlining the government’s strategy with respect to inland navigation innovation.
