The Department of Transport and Regional Economics takes full care of the Advanced Master of Maritime Sciences (at the University of Antwerp as well as interuniversitary), the Advanced Master of Sea and Transport Law. Moreover, members of the Department supply courses to the Master of Real Estate and the interuniversitary Master of Management of the European Metropolitan Region (MEMR).

Master of Maritime Sciences
From various contacts between the business sector and the University of Antwerp, a growing need for a specialized Maritime Training Programme, where both the juridical as well as economical aspects are taken into account, was noticed. To satisfy this need, an Advanced Maritime Training Programme was set up under the auspices of the University of Antwerp.

This programme is mainly developed for academic graduates, who are interested in the port and maritime sector. Courses are in Dutch.

Master of Sea and Transport Law
This Advanced Programme aspires to bridge the gap between the juridical and economical component with respect to the Transportation field. Although the course material consists of a number of compulsory juridical and economic courses, the student has enough degrees of freedom to choose from a number of optional courses, as to reach the demanded credit points. Eventually, the dissertation belongs to the field of Sea and Transport Law. Courses are in Dutch.
