Antwerp has a very broad system of student associations. Nearly every
faculty has at least one association, most of the time even one for each
subject/discipline. The associations organize several activities
throughout the year. Doctoral students are not obliged to join a
students' association, but it is an easy and pleasant way to get to know
lots of new people and to speed up the integration process.
