in the field of Strategy and Organization

Job description

·         You prepare a PhD thesis in the field of Strategy and Organization;

·         The PhD topic will be determined depending on your interests in consultation with your supervisors, Prof. dr. Christophe Boone and Prof. dr. Arjen van Witteloostuijn,  within the scope of the broad research program of the Antwerp Centre of Evolutionary Demography (ACED). The key questions raised in this program are (1) where does demographic diversity come from, and (2) what does it imply for the behavior and performance of social entities, such as teams, organizations, industries, networks and communities. ·         You contribute to research in both universities.

Profile and requirements

·         You hold a master’s degree in Economics, Business Economics, or equivalent, or you obtain your degree before the end of September 2013;

·         You obtained outstanding academic results;

·         Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy ( http://www.ua.ac.be/research);

·         You are quality oriented, conscientious, creative, flexible and a team player.

We offer

·         A joint PhD scholarship at the University of Antwerp  & at the University of Tilburg for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal for another two year period after positive evaluation;

·         The scholarship starts at September/October 1^st 2013;

·         A dynamic and stimulating work environment at two different research centers. The first two years you will work at the excellence centre ACED (University of Antwerp). The Faculty of Applied Economic Sciences is seeking to fill the following part-time vacancy (10%) in the Department of Economics

Visiting lector/ Visiting professor
in the area of Econometrics

Job description

·        You teach the course “Advanced Econometric Methods & Applications” in the master Applied Economic Sciences – Economic Policy and in the master Socioeconomic Sciences (1^st semester, 60 contact hours, 6 ECTS);

·        You are willing to supervise a few master theses in the area;

·        You contribute to the on-going research in the department;

Profile and requirements

·        You hold a PhD degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Socio-economics or equivalent;

·        The focus in your teaching corresponds to the educational vision of the University of Antwerp ( http://www.ua.ac.be/onderwijs ) ;

·        You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative;

·        You have the requisite skills to teach in English.

We offer

·        A contract in the scale of post-doctoral assistant/ lecturer (or higher), depending on academic qualifications and professional experience, for a period of one year;

·        The start date of the contract will be 1 October 2013;

·        A gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.896,31 - €6.074,02 (post-doctoral assistant) and from € 4.009,52 - € 5.910,19 (lecturer);

·        A dynamic and stimulating work environment.
