  • new4a.gifThe University of Bari "Aldo Moro" together with the EGEI partners and the Norwegian School of Economics are jointly organizing the 4th edition of the conference on the "Economics of Global Interaction". The conference will be organized in Bari on 17-18 September 2013. Submission of papers or extended abstracts are expected by May 15th 2013 to Nicola Coniglio at nicola.coniglio@nhh.no.   • For those who are interested in doing doctoral research: the Erasmus Mundus GEM PhD School 'Globalisation, the EU & Multilateralism', an associate partner of  the EGEI consortium, has launched a new call for applications. You can find more information on their website: http://www.erasmusmundus-gem.eu/ .

  • The Joint Studies Board of the M.A. EGEI, in its meeting of 26 October 2012, appointed Prof. Dr Guido Erreygers of Universiteit Antwerpen as the new co-ordinator of the Programme, in succession of Prof. Em. Wim Meeusen, who resigned for health reasons.

  • The Consortium was successful in applying for new Erasmus Mundus funding. EM scholarships will again become available as of the academic year 2013-2014. 

  • Università degli Studi di Bari 'Aldo Moro' and the EGEI Consortium, together with UNIDO, organised the 3rd International Workshop on 'Global Interactions: New Perspectives on Trade, Factor Mobility and Development' in Bari (Italy) on 3-4 September 2012.

  • The consortium of nine universities organising the M.A. Economics of Globalisation and European Integration and the consortium organising the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programme GEM PhD School Globalisation, the EU and Multilateralism, co-ordinated by Université Libre de Bruxelles, have decided to step into an association. As a result the path is smoothened for excellent students of the M.A. to apply for this EMJD.

  • In 2011 the Consortium organised two international research meetings:

    • 9-10 June 2011: Second 'Joint Antwerp – Lille – Xiamen Microeconomics Workshop' in Antwerp.
    • 7-8 September 2011: Second International Workshop on ‘Economics of Global Interactions: New Perspectives on Trade, Factor Mobility and Development’,  Università degli Studi di Bari ‘Aldo Moro’.
  • Two non-European universities have joined the consortium as full partners,and will co-organise the M.A. from the academic year 2011-2012 onwards:

    • Universidade de Brasília (Brazil)
    • Xiamen University (P.R. China).
  • In 2010 the Consortium organised three international research meetings and conferences:

    • 2 June 2010: the international conference 'The Economic Crisis and the Process of European Integration', European Parliament, Brussels (see the website  http://www.ua.ac.be/ecei for downloads of the papers).
    • 16-17 June 2010: ‘Joint Antwerp - Lille - Xiamen Microeconomics Workshop’: in Xiamen (P.R. China), hosted by the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE) of Xiamen University
    • 6-7 September 2010: the international workshop 'Economics of Global Interactions: new perspectives on trade, factor mobility and development', Università degli Studi di Bari 'Aldo Moro'
