Academic structure

Structure
The University of Antwerp consists of 7 Faculties, each of which provides high-level teaching based on fundamental and applied research in specific areas of expertise.
Besides the formal Faculties, UA encompasses a number of excellent Institutes and Centres (website in dutch) boasting large scientific teams and providing a wealth of internationally-oriented programmes. 

Key Research Domains 
The University of Antwerp decided to identify nine key research domains as billboards of our research excellence, as focus points for research funding and as possible connector points for collaboration with industry: (1) Urban History and Contemporary Urban Policy, (2) Social Economic Policy and Organisation, (3) Harbour, Transport and Logistics, (4) Imaging, (5) Neurosciences, (6) Infectious Diseases, (7) Drug Discovery and Development, (8) Materials Characterisation and (9) Ecology and Sustainable Development.
