Capt. Marc Nuytemans is currently the Managing Director Shipmanagement at EXMAR and the former managing director of the Royal Belgian Shipowner’s Association. He is also course coordinator of the Shipping Management Maritime Safety and Security Course, together wit dr. Genserik Reniers. After an extensive career at sea he joined the management team of Tecto (CMB) in 1997 to become fleet personnel manager in 1999 responsible for HRM for approx. 2.000 seafarers of different nationalities. In 2000 he took up his present position. He became the “architect” of the revival of the Belgian register which is nowadays larger than that of the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden or Portugal. He lectures extensively in Belgium and abroad on topics related to fiscal incentives for the shipping industry, registration issues and international labour negotiations.
