 Gust Blauwens obtained a Doctorate in Applied Economics in 1973. He is a full Professor with the Faculty of Economics at the University of Antwerp (UA) lecturing in, among other subjects, General Transport Economics, Logistics and Transport Policy. From 1982 to 1989, he was also a professor by special appointment at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he taught transport economics. Since 1998, he holds a part-time appointment with the University of Ghent as a visiting professor in Transport Management. His academic work and his activities as a consultant focus mainly on the application of transport economics in companies and in the field of transport policy.
Professor Blauwens produced articles and papers in a large number of academic journals. He edited or contributed to numerous academic books and was a speaker at about 120 international and national conferences.
