Prof. Dr. Willy Winkelmans, Dean and Chairman of the Executive Board of ITMMA (and member of the Board of Directors of IAME) and Prof. Dr. Theo Notteboom, Associate Professor at ITMMA (and member of IAME) attended this academic conference, which was organised by IAME and the Panama Canal Authority, as speakers.

Prof. Dr. Theo Notteboom presented a paper on 'The interdependence between liner shipping networks and hinterland networks' (author: Theo Notteboom), while Prof. Dr. Willy Winkelmans talked about the ' Stakeholder relations management ...' (authors: Theo Notteboom and Willy Winkelmans).

Prof. Dr. Theo Notteboom also acted as one of the moderators during the plenary discussion session of the last day of the conference.

During their stay in Panama City they met several ITMMA alumni: Mr. José Simpson (Panama, Class of 1999), Mr. Angelo Simpson (Panama, Class of 2000), Ms. Angelina Kolishnichenko (Ukraine, Class of 1999) and Ms. Maria Lamonarca (Italy, Class of 2002).
