The kind sponsorship of the Waterways and Marine Affairs Administration (AWZ) of the Ministry of Flanders enabled ITMMA to be present with an infostand at the 30th PIANC-AIPCN Congress. The infostand was manned by Prof. Dr. Theo Notteboom, Associate Professor at ITMMA and Mr. Jean-Claude Van Gelder, Communications Manager of ITMMA.
The main goal of their mission was to promote ITMMA and AWZ on the fifth continent through this conference and through several contacts such as P&O Ports, the Institute of Transport Studies (University of Sydney), Consulate General of Belgium in Sydney, ...
On their way to Sydney they had a stopover in Singapore where they paid an official visit to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA Singapore), and where they met two Singaporean ITMMA alumni.
