Born out of the merger between the two cargo handling companies Hessenatie and Noord Natie, Hesse-Noord Natie (HNN) is the most diversified logistic operator in the port of Antwerp and the port of Zeebrugge. With more than 400 years of experience, Hesse-Noord Natie is strongly rooted in the Belgian port landscape.
The accession to the PSA group on the 27th of March 2002, marked an important step in the globalisation of Hesse-Noord Natie.
HNN became part of a group with 13 projects in 8 countries around the world, including Belgium, Brunei, China, India, Italy, Korea, Portugal and Yemen.
HNN operates actively in the ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam and is connected worldwide with 800 overseas destinations through 290 regular lines at Antwerp and with 200 ports through 51 lines at Zeebrugge.
Hesse-Noord Natie offers its clients a fully integrated logistic service for containerized and conventional cargo, together with a whole range of complementary activities including storage and distribution. To support its core activity as terminal operator, a network of subsidiary companies has been developed. Forwarding, cargo agency, container repair, soft ware development and pre-delivery inspection are extra services which allow the company to offer a fully integrated logistic service.
Hesse-Noord Natie currently manages 19 terminals through its 5 business divisions: containers, roll-on/roll-of, general cargo, fruit and logistics. In 2001 HNN processed an aggregate volume of around 55 million tons and employed 4,500 people in Belgium.
HNN's mission is to be Europe's most reliable terminal operator through its commitment in offering fully integrated logistics services.
