Housing

You will have to organize and finance your housing yourself. Students who will be staying in Antwerp for an entire academic year cannot apply for housing through the University of Antwerp!  There is plenty of suitable accommodation available in the city of Antwerp.
You may prefer to arrange your housing before you travel to Belgium. You can also try and find a student room upon arrival in Antwerp as most rooms are rented for a period of 10 months. In this case you are advised to book a room in a youth hostel or a low budget hotel for the first nights of your stay in Antwerp and to have a look around. You can click here to have a list of addresses . Ho(s)tel bookings should be made in time!
The Office for student affairs (STIP) can give information on how to find a room during your stay in Antwerp. You can consult the following databases for available accommodation:
  • http://www.studentkotweb.be/ (password needed: contact the Office for student affairs (STIP))
  • http://www.kotspotting.be/ (no login or password needed)

The Faculty of Applied Economics is located in the centre of the City of Antwerp ( City Campus, Prinsstraat 13, 2000 Antwerp ).
If you are renting a room, you will have to pay a deposit of one to three months. The rent of a furnished student room varies between € 250 and € 350/ month for a full academic year. Rooms for short rental periods are usually more expensive. 'Studios' are more expensive as well. Costs for water, electricity supplies and heating are usually not included in this price. Bed linen and towels are not provided by the landlord, cooking utensils not always.
