Master's programme in Applied Economic Sciences: Economic Policy

Study Economic Policy in an international context, with young academics from different countries and cultures.

The University of Antwerp runs a Master's programme in Applied Economic Sciences that specializes in Economic Policy. The programme is taught in English and is open to international students. The programme takes one academic year.

Purpose of the programme
The Master's programme in Economic Policy helps students to analyze the wider range of problems facing economic policy makers and to understand the background to political decision-making. The programme offers students an advanced knowledge of macro-economics, econometrics and philosophy of economics. Furthermore, students will gain a deeper understanding of different areas of economic policy: labour economics, economic growth and fluctuations, health economics, public finance, competition policy, monetary economics, transport economics. Students can also improve their knowledge of  research methodology by choosing a course on multivariate data analysis, operations research, real options or time series analysis. 

The Master’s programme aims to improve student’s insights and ability to recognize and resolve economic policy issues in a methodologically sound and effective manner. 

Degree
Students who succeed will obtain the degree of Master of Applied Economic Sciences: Economic Policy from the University of Antwerp.
