Eindcompetenties (eindtermen) De studenten verwerven inzicht in de Engelstalige postkoloniale literatuur en theorievorming, met specifieke aandacht voor de manier waarop postkoloniale auteurs de Westerse geschiedschrijving en literaire canon herschrijven. Ze verwerven vaardigheid in het analyseren en interpreteren van (1) klassiekers uit de Engelstalige letterkunde vanuit postkoloniaal perspectief en (2) enkele vooraanstaande postkoloniale literaire werken. 3. Inhoud This course (taught in English) offers a study of postcolonial rewritings of the Western literary canon and historiography and examines postcolonial themes and techniques in a selection of works by postcolonial authors from different continents and eras, including Equiano, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Walcott, Coetzee, and Phillips.
