2. Eindcompetenties
The student will have a basic understanding of aquatic biogeochemical cycles and the relationships among these cycles. Student will be trained to give a scientific presentation for fellow students on a hot topic in biogeochemistry.
3. Inhoud
Biogeochemical of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon and iron. Box models for nutrient cycling in lakes and oceans. Factors governing primary production and respiration. Primer on radionuclides and stable isotopes. Stable isotopes in food webs. Student presentation of selected literature subject.
