1. Prerequisites *Algemene competenties
University Degree or HOLT Degree
Preferably 3 years of working experience.

2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)
Students must be able to
- work with interest rate calculations
- value fixed income securities and to assess the risks involved
- optimize portfolios
- create a financial plan
3. Course content First we study financial calculation techniques with ExcelTM applications (e.g. calculating effective interest rates, creating mortgage repayment schemes, ...). Next we study the valuation and the risk measurement of fixed income securities. The trade-off between risk and return will be practically implementen in ExcelTM with applications on a real portfolio.We finalize the module with the implementation of a financial planning in ExcelTM.
