2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes) Philosophical reflection on both economics as a science and on the economy as a practice. Besides a thematic approach the course focuses also on a profound study of one or some central author(s). All these insights are connected with actual topics like the globalisation process.
3. Course content The course starts with a short historic review of the economic reflection of important philosophers like Aristotle, Smith and Marx. Afther this a philosophical analysis of some basic economic concepts like scarcity, valuie, utility, rationality, need and labour,is presented.
