2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)
- the studens must be able to recognize and to understand the most important forms of modern and contemporary forms of critique of metaphysics




3. Course content
This year (2010-2010) we focus upon the place of metaphysics in continental philosophy during the 'interbellum'. Point of departure is the controversy between Heidegger and Cassirer on the status of metaphysics in the beginning of the thirties ('Davoser Disputation'). Against this backdrop we study texts of Cassirer (Philosophy of symbolic forms) and Heidegger (Being and Time, Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics).
