1. Prerequisites *Algemene competenties
Students can make the difference between fundamental scientific research and policy-oriented research. Students can judge a scientific problem definition. Students can search for peer-reviewed articles and use them in APA-style references

2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)
General: Students gain insight in the planning and execution of a qualitative research. They are able to apply the general theoretical insights on a specific research problem.
Detailed:
Students are able to do a qualitative interview. Students are able to code and analyse an in-depth interview. Students are able to report on a qualitative analysis.
3. Course content The goal of Qualitative Research methods is to give students insight into qualitative research methods. We will focus on the research cycle of qualitative research starting from preparing the research and moving on to data collection, data analysis and reporting.
Even though the major focus lies on qualitative research in general, we will also deal with special techniques like focus group research.
