2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes) Students learn to perform standard syntactic and morphological analyses (with respect to the surface structure) and to use the standard terminology. They learn to reflect on language structure, both at the level of the sentence and at the level of the word, and they are able to use relevant resources to solve grammatical problems.
3. Course content The course presents both an extensive terminological framework and methods for syntactic and morphogical analysis. The syntactical part of the course deals with the parts of speech and the constituents of the sentence, with a focus on both the internal structure of the constituents and the relation between the constituents. The morphology part addresses issues in morphosyntax, morphosemantics, and morphophonology.

8. Tutoring At the end of the semester students can participate in an extra seminar on syntax in smaller groups. During this seminar a model-exam will be made. The exam will be presented on blackboard at least a week before the seminar.
