2. Objectives (expected learning outcomes)
Study aim 1: De student is able to apply to physical principles and laws on the respiratory system
Study aim 2: The student can explain lung function disturbances and relate them to the disturbances in airway and lung mechanics, diffusion abnormalities and disturbances in gas exchange
Study aim 3: The student can explain clinical findings and identify the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of the diseases (asthma, COPD, sleep related breathing disorders, restrictive lung disease)

Diffusion
Airway mechanics
Pulmonary circulation
Control of breathing
Arterial blood gases
Pathophysiology of asthma
Pathophysiology of COPD
Pathophysiology of sleep related breathing disorders
Pathophysiology of restrictive lung disease
Principles of non-invasive ventilation
Spirometry
Exercise tests
Oxygen therapy
