Profile of the programme
Are you interested in understanding how businesses work, while maintaining a broad and critical perspective?  Would you like to one day be part of policy making decisions, both in the private and public sector? The programme will help you answer the following questions:
  • How do you make a thorough financial analysis? 
  • How do you motivate employees? 
  • What role does marketing play in the success of a product or service? 
  • How do you work out an effective business strategy? 
  • How do you keep making the necessary profits whilst retaining an ethical mindset and keeping durable development in mind? 
  • What production and logistical activities can improve your profit margins? 
  • How can Informatics be of help?
The programme offers a theoretical basis with attention to practical knowledge. During the whole formative process you will acquire certain skills that will prove useful to you both in your career as in your social life: organisational skills, problem solving, teamwork, networking,…  These skills are developed during practical sessions, which is why coaching in small groups receives extra attention. The options you can choose allow you to specialize according to your talents and interests.
Admission requirements
Direct: academic bachelor of applied economic sciences - business administration and bachelor of applied economic sciences, bachelor of applied economic sciences: business engineering - profile business administration, master of organisational management, master of commercial sciences
 
With preparatory programme: other academic bachelors and masters.
Qualification awarded
In order to obtain the degree of Master of Science in Applied Economic Sciences: Business Administration the student
  • should be enrolled for the programme in question under a diploma contract or under an exam contract to obtain a diploma
  • should have taken all the exams that the programme encompasses
  • should previously have registered for the programme with the examination board.
  • should have acquired at least 60 ECTS-credits
The programme consists of 60 ECTS-credits.
In a model academic year, the student takes between 54 and 66 ECTS-credits.
Objectives and learning outcomes

The following core competencies are pursued in the FAE Master’s degree programme in Business Administration:

  • CM-BK-1 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to distinguish and define the concepts of specific domains of business administration at an advanced level, and they will be able to describe the current scientific discussion and the newest developments within these domains.
  • CM-BK-2 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to update and supplement their knowledge of specific business economic domains through the critical analysis of various sources.
  • CM-BK-3 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to use their analytical insights and methodological training to conduct scientific research properly, whether independently or in a group.
  • CM-BK-4 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to critically evaluate the results of their own or other scientific research, using them as a foundation for proposing appropriate solutions to complex problems.
  • CM-BK-5 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to communicate and report effectively and persuasively at an academic level to professional audiences.
  • CM-BK-6 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to operate efficiently and effectively in multicultural team assignments.
  • CM-BK-7 Masters AES Business Administration can identify the aspects of ethics and sustainability in business operations within a globalising world, integrating them into a global conceptual framework.
  • CM-BK-8 Masters AES Business Administration will be able to chart the interaction between societal change and the functioning of organisations, and they will be able to assess their impact on business decisions.

Final examination
A student’s final result is a weighted average of the exam results the student has obtained for all the programme components of his/her training programme. In calculating the final result, the credits corresponding to the various programme components are used for weighting the results obtained for those components.

The final result is expressed as an integer out of 100.

A student whose final result is less than 50 out of 100 can never be declared successful.

A student is successful for the training programme if he/she has obtained credits for all the programme components in his/her training programme.
