The programme is founded in a problem-oriented approach where theory and practise are integrated in the learning forms (learning conversations, seminars, thematic courses, electronic courses) as well as in the tasks: practical project and case discussions. The goal is to form GP’s who have scientifically based skills to practise their profession. At the end of the programme the student has:
- a process of medical problem solving. This means the skill to work systematically, handle the correct diagnostic process adapted to the type of help needed and to choose the correct policy on the basis of sufficient knowledge and skills to treat all occurent patient problems;
- a broad knowledge and skills package to be able to work together with other disciplines/social workers;
- a scientific training on the basis of which he acts. He has a realistic idea about the extent to which medical acts are scientifically founded and he can apply these insights in practise.
- the correct attitudes and social and communicative skills to treat patients with respect; critical of his own actions; wants to have a good working relationship with other carers.
