1. Prerequisites
At the start of this course the student should have acquired the following competences: An active knowlegde of :A passive knowledge of :Specific prerequisites for this course: Good knowledge of Scientific English
2. Learning outcomes
- Interpretation of experimental data and current literature in the field - Develop a critical view on experimental data and their interpretation - Gain a descent knowledge of the principles op Plant-bacterial interaction, symbiosis and pathogenicity
3. Course contents
The course is a selection of recent conpulsory papers, selected based on their content and contradictory nature. Topics treated:
- Agrobacterium tumefaciens and Agrobacterium rhizogenes
- Rhizobium sp. - Mycorrhiza - Symbiosis versus pathogenicity and wounding - Quorum sensing - Evolutionary aspects of symbiosis - cell-cell tranfer - immune respons - heavy metal resistance - signalling - plant cell death Also several non-conpulsory reviews are gives to provide background information is necessary.
