Politics is very diverse and dynamic. It is about shaping civilisation, about what the ideal society looks like, about what is being undertaken to obtain this ideal society, and the conflicts that inevitably follow. In the end it is about who has the power to form civilization, who should have the power, and how power works in day-to-day politics. At the University of Antwerp, politics is studied at all levels: local (Antwerp), regional (Flanders), national (Belgium), international (European Union) and global (United Nations). The Political Science course also offers many insights into and skills for understanding politics in all it’s aspects:
- a broad scientific background ( e.g. Philosophy, Law, Economics)
- a strong methodological basis (both in quality and quantity)
- a variety of skills (critical reading, written and verbal argumentation)
