1. Prerequisites
At the start of this course the student should have acquired the following competences: Specific prerequisites for this course: none
2. Learning outcomes
Students have gained a profound knowledge of patterns in production and logistic systems. They are able to apply this knowledge and to interpret current applications.
3. Course contents
The first part deals with typical problems in production (planning) matters, taking into account the various realistic constraints and trying to reach solutions by means of techniques such as linear programming.
The second part tries to create a realistic view on the aggregate functioning of a production system in function of significant determinants and performance criteria.
The third part deals with more complex and realistic production systems.
4. Teaching method
Class contact teaching: LecturesTutorials Personal work: Assignments:Individually Directed self-study
5. Assessment method and criteria
Written assignment: With oral presentation Presentation
