Call for papers

Aims 


The aim of this international and multidisciplinary workshop is to offer a platform to scholars to present their research and exchange their ideas on research findings. 
Presentations can summarize empirical research outcomes, but also conceptual and methodological contributions are welcomed for submission. 


Submissions 

Your paper proposal should be related to the topic of children’s, adolescents’ and emerging adults’ uses of social media in general and social network sites in particular. 

Proposals for organized panel sessions, consisting of three related paper proposals, introduced by a rationale for the panel topic and content, will also be taken into consideration. 

The topics are centered around, but not limited to the questions and concerns that are summarized in the 'topics' section of the website.

Notice of acceptance before December 21st 2012 


Applicants should be 
  • a master student, doctoral student,  postdoctoral researcher
  • should be involved in ongoing academic research relevant to the themes addressed in the sessions of the workshop 
  • respect formal requirements of the application process 


Blind peer-review 

The selection of participants will be made on a competitive basis by the members of the organizing scientific committee and reviewers headed by the academic director of UCSIA. 
The proposals (abstracts) will be examined through a blind refereeing process. 
Incomplete applications will not be considered. 

Selection criteria 
  • fulfillment of formal eligibility requirements 
  • a well written paper proposal, related to the main topic of the workshop and representative of your research work, indicating the methodology and theoretical underpinning of your empirical research (or a panel session proposal)

Presentation and publication opportunity 

Selected participants will present their papers in a panel session (20 minutes in English). 
A selection of papers presented at the workshop will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed book volume, published by an internationally renowned publisher. 


Conference attendance 

A fee of 100 euro for participation, documentation, meals (including 2 lunches and a conference dinner), will be charged.

Conference attendance, meals and accommodation for the presenter of the 12 papers receiving the highest ratings of the review board, are free of charge.
