Prof. Alexia Herwig holds a Bachelor of Science in Government and Law (LSE) and an LLM in International Legal Studies and a Doctor of Juridical Science (both NYU).

Her research interests include WTO and EU law, post-national constitutionalism and theories of democracy and distributive justice. She currently holds an FWO post-doctoral mandate and is a member of the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values.

Prior to joining the University of Antwerp, she was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Transformation of the State at the University of Bremen in Germany and has practised WTO law and EU anti-dumping and competition law with the Brussels office of Covington and Burling.
