Duration: 01/01/2004 - 31/12/2007 Researcher(s): Principal investigator:  Mudde Cas Abstract: The aim of this project is to gain a better insight into the ways in which liberal representative democracies deal with extremist political actors, political parties in particular. On the basis of an international comparative research design in three European democracies (Austria, Belgium, and France) will be analysed which attitudes democratic parties hold with regard to extremist parties; why they hold these attitudes; and, if and why developments in these attitudes can be observed.- Website
