Christ’l De Landtsheer is a Professor of Political Communication at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. After having received her Ph.D from the University of Ghent, Belgium, she became an Associate Professor at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research ASCoR of the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She was a visiting scholar at various universities (the University of York, UK; the University of Padova and the University of Perugia, Italy; and San Diego State University, USA). She published numerous international journal articles, special journal issues, books and book chapters. Her research interests are in political communication, political psychology and political socialization. She is a director of the Political Communication Research Unit and Masters Program at the University of Antwerp and a President of the Research Committee on Political Socialization and Education (RC21) of the International Political Science Association (IPSA). Among her books are Metaphorical World Politics. Rhetorics of Democracy, War and Globalization (Michigan State University Press, 2004, co-edited with Francis A.
