Dirk Van Hulle, professor

, is the author of Textual Awareness (2004), Manuscript Genetics, Joyce’s Know-How, Beckett’s Nohow (2008), and Darwins kladjes (2010); president of the European Society for Textual Scholarship (http://www.textualscholarship.eu/); editor of Beckett’s Company, Ill Seen Ill Said, Worstward Ho, Stirrings Still (Faber and Faber, 2009); board member of the Beckett Society; and an editor of the Journal of Beckett Studies, Samuel Beckett Today/Aujourd'hui and Genetic Joyce Studies. He co-directs the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project and is currently working with Mark Nixon on Beckett’s Library (Cambridge UP, forthcoming).
The Centre for Manuscript Genetics (Centrum voor tekstgenetica) examines the dynamics of writing processes by authors such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Marcel Proust, Thomas Mann, Charles Darwin, Willem Elsschot.
