In november 2011 is successfully defended my dissertation, titled: Patterns in student learning: exploring a person-oriented and a longitudinal research-perspective. The research in my dissertation explored two general research aims:
- Is it possible to identify meaningful learning profiles in a student population, based on students' scores on various learning dimensions and their dynamic interrelations? Can these learning profiles aid us in understanding the complex learning processes in higher education?
- How do students' learning approaches/learning strategies evolve during higher education? What growth-trajectories are discernable and to what degree do students vary in these trajectories?
A Dutch and an English summary of the research are provided below. The slides of the short presentation I held at my defense is also available Is you are interested in a full version of the dissertation, please contact me for a hard copy.
