In 1995 Toon Vandevelde and I organized the conference Is Inheritance Legitimate? Ethical and Economic Aspects of Wealth Transfers. In 1998 I was the local organizer of the 4th ECHE (European Conferences on the History of Economic Thought) at the University of Antwerp. The organizing committee also included José Luis Cardoso, Philippe Fontaine, Albert Jolink, Robert Leonard and Michalis Psalidopoulos. The theme of the conference was: Exchange at the Boundaries. Crossing Borders in the History of Economics. A selection of papers presented at this conference has been published in: Guido Erreygers (Ed.), Economics and Interdisciplinary Exchange, London, Routledge, 2001. In 2002 Ingeborg Dusar, Geert Jacobs and myself - with the aid of Klaartje Verbelen - organized a conference on Text and Economics at the University of Antwerp. This conference was one of the many events which were organized to mark the foundation, 150 years ago, of the two business schools out of which the University of Antwerp has grown. In September 2005 Mauro Boianovsky, Albert Jolink, Wilfried Parys and myself organized a conference on Cycles, Markets and Networks.
