r. Lieve Goorden got a training in political and social sciences (Ph.D. University of Antwerp). She has been working at the Flemish Foundation for Technology Assessment (Stichting Technologie Vlaanderen) and at TNO in Delft (in the researchgroup ‘Strategy, Technology, Policy’), where her research focused on technology policy and technology assessment. In October 1999 she joined the researchgroup STEM at the University of Antwerp (Studiecentrum Technologie, Energie, Milieu) to coordinate the research cluster on technology assessment. In this research domain studies are undertaken about public debate and policy making on complex technological and social problems.
She is docent for the course ‘Technology and Society’ in the Faculty of Applied Economics of the University of Antwerp.
For the moment she is coordinator of the SBO-researchproject ‘Nanotechnologies for tomorrow’s society’ (www.nanosoc.be), financed by IWT and with partners such as the Centre of Science, Technology and Ethics of the KU-Leuven, the Physics department of the University of Antwerp and IMEC.
