Paul Matthyssens is professor of strategic management and global strategic management at the Department of Management, Antwerp University, Belgium and at Antwerp Management School, Belgium. He is a regular professor for global marketing and industrial market strategy in executive programs at Copenhagen Business School (SIMI) and Stockholm School of Economics (IFL).
He gave guest lectures in Italy at the Universities of Foggia, Firenze, Camerino, Siena, Bologna, Rimini and Arezzo in Italy, and at the Universities of Bratislava, Budapest, and New Mexico State University. From 1994 till 2008 he was part time professor of Business-to-Business marketing at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His research focuses on strategic buyer-supplier relations, value creation strategies, market strategy and strategic innovation in international and business-to-business markets. His work has been published in international academic journals such as Long Range Planning, Industrial Marketing Management, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, International Marketing Review, Journal of International Management, Journal of Service Management, Technovation, Journal of Management Studies, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Strategic Organization, British Food Journal and Journal of Purchasing & Supply Management.
At Antwerp University, Matthyssens is:

Academic director Master in Global Management, Antwerp Management School;
Member of the staff evaluation & promotion commissions of the faculty (FEC, CAP)
Within the Association University Colleges of Higher Education Antwerp (AUHA), Matthyssens is member of the Research evaluation commission Product Development ("leescommissie PO" Artesis) and of the Strategic expert commission for program re-design ("Toetsingscommissie" Artesis).
Matthyssens consults and trains multinational companies such as Roche Diagnostics, DSM, Finmeccanica, ERIKS and Oiltanking. Also federations such as VIB, UNETO, Staalfederatie Nederland, NEVAT, and Agoria and government bodies such as VRWI (Flemish Scientific & innovation council) and the POM Antwerp (provincial development agency) have asked consultancy and applied research.
