OVERVIEW
Roel Gevaers (Bornem,°1985) obtained his masters degree as a Transport Economist at the Faculty of Applied Economics (University of Antwerp) in July 2007. Since then he works at the Department of Transport and Regional Economics (TPR) at the University of Antwerp (Faculty of Applied Economics). First as a Junior Scientific Ph.D. student at the Research Centre on Commodity Flows (Steunpunt Goederenstromen) and since October 2011 he is working as a senior researcher on a joint research project (P&G-TPR-UA) with P&G (Procter & Gamble). He is also partly involved in the Research Centre on Passenger and freight mobility (Steunpunt MOBILO - the successor of the Research Centre on Commodity Flows) since 2012, where he is responsible for the research concerning urban logistics.
His research focuses on B2C last mile logistics, E-commerce, urban logistics, reverse logistics and waste logistics.
Between 2009 and 2012 he was elected member of the Faculty council (Applied Economics) and between 2011 and 2012 he was elected member of the Executive Management Committee at the same faculty.
